SUMMARY:Masterclass: What's New with Masonry Codes & Standards?
DESCRIPTION:A Masonry Masterclass\n\nPresented by Michael Schuller\, PE\n\nAtkinson-Noland & Associates\n\n \n\nIt's been 6 years since the last masonry code update\, and the new 2022 edition of TMS 402/602 has some exciting (really!) new information. TMS Committees have been hard at work developing code updates that clarify requirements and incorporate recent research results. There have also been some important changes to ASTM masonry standards\, including development of a new standard specification for adhered concrete masonry units. Attend this webinar to learn about significant revisions to engineering design provisions\, the entirely rewritten chapter on masonry veneer\, and the new Appendix for designing with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforcement.\n\n**** \n\nBy the end of this webinar\, you'll understand how to:\n\n\n	Design masonry using GFRP reinforcement.\n	Use new code provisions to distinguish between three types of intersecting walls.\n	Design masonry veneer anchors using new code tables.\n	Specify mortar and grout using blended hydraulic cement provisions in ASTM C270 and C476.\n\n\n**** \n\nNote: This class is eligible for 1 AIA LU/HSW or RMMI continuing education credit. If you provide your AIA membership number upon registration\, RMMI will submit documentation to AIA/CES for your credit. All attendees will receive a certificate upon completion of the live webinar.
